Bay Leaves are one of the few herbs that impart a better flavour when used from dried rather than fresh.
Bay leaves have been used as far back as ancient Greece & is still used in many European cuisines, particularly in France and the Mediterranean, as well as across Asia and the Americas. Use whole to flavour soups, meat, stews, seafood (our Classic Bay seasoning is incredible with crab!), vegetable dishes and sauces. Remove before serving & certainly before freezing any leftovers.
Bay contains a naturally occurring source of salicylates and is best avoided by people eating a salicylate free diet.
