Our Ground Nutmeg combines the richness of finely ground nutmeg with the convenience of a finely ground powder, presented in a resealable pot to retain freshness. Being slightly sweeter than Mace, it is used in almost every World cuisine.
As well as being popular in Indian & Middle Eastern cooking, the Europeans began to use it in soups, sauces, potato dishes – a pinch on Dauphinoise potatoes or a rice pudding gives a beautiful flavour. Italians use it in tortellini or ravioli & it is an essential ingredient in a Caribbean Jerk recipe. A pinch over roast butternut squash or other winter squashes is another classic way to use this gorgeous spice. It’s even used in drinks & cocktails with egg nog being among the most well known.
Use sparingly though – just a pinch will do.
