Madagascan Vanilla Pod
This is a plump, rich Madagascan Vanilla Pod in a resealable pot. With around twice the vanilla of a typical supermarket pod, it’s plump, moist & full to bursting with vanilla. If your only experience of vanilla pods is from supermarkets, prepare to be shocked when you see what a real gourmet vanilla pod looks like! This is more than double the vanilla content than a typical supermarket pod.
Vanilla prices have doubled in the last few months due to shortages and are still forecast to increase still further – we will need to pass any extra cost on once our current stock has run out, so don’t delay! Vanilla is scarce at the moment!
Store your vanilla pods in a cool dark place but never refrigerate. To use, slit the vanilla pod open down its length & scrape out the sticky seeds using the tip of a sharp knife. Spent pods can be placed into a container of sugar to make vanilla sugar or added to a custard or milk to extract every bit of vanilla flavour.
Use to flavour ice creams, crème brûlée and custards, they can be added to chocolate and sweet bread recipes, cakes and biscuits.
